KNOCKOUTS MAINTAIN THEIR UNDEFEATED START TO THE 2007/2008 SEASON

The Elmsdale Dental Knockouts kept their undefeated start to the 2007/2008 in tact tonight.  Mind you there were some tense moments late in the game but they held off the hard pressing Mark Currie Painting No Stars long enough to earn a 5-4 victory.

The No Stars took a 1-0 lead late in the opening period on a power play opportunity.  Then they expanded that to 2-0 thirty-one seconds into the final period.  Then it was 3-0 for the No Stars before the Knockouts finally found the mesh at 6:15.  Then what looked like trouble for the Knockouts, a penalty, proved to be the opposite.  They (Knockouts) scored a pair of short handed goals to tie the game at 3-3.  This propelled the Knockouts and at 15:40 they took the lead for the first time in the game.  The No Stars replied quickly to tie the game at 4-4.  But Travis Hunter found the mark at 20:56 to lift the Knockouts into a 5-4 lead, which became the final score of the game.
