THREE GOALS IN TWO MINUTES FINISHED OFF KNOCKOUTS

Nov 20/07 - During a two minute period of time in the final period, the Benere Contracting Sabres fired three goals to break the game against the Elmsdale Dental Knockouts open and gain a 6-3 victory.  The Knockouts had established a 2-0 lead during the opening period.  The Sabres started to find the net during the final period and by 7:19 they (Sabres) were trailing the Knockouts 3-1.  Two quick power play goals midway through the period tie the game at 3-3.  Then between 16:33 and 18:48, the Sabres connected with three unanswered goals to secure a 6-3 victory.

Dave Forsyth set the pace for the Sabres with a pair of goals.  Ferenc Barna, Troy Johnston, Doug Sullivan and Daryl Almonky provided singles to complete the Sabres scoring.  Jeff Turner netted a pair of goals for the Knockouts while Travis Hunter added a single.  Howard Rose turned aside twenty-two shots to earn the win while Paul Scothorn faced twenty shots to take the loss.

In other action tonight, the Airport Petro-Can Raiders edged the Caldwell Roach Insurance Kings 5-4.  The Kings struck first and held a 1-0 lead at the end of the opening period.  The final period saw the Raiders' scoring machine come to life.  They out scored the Kings 5-3 for the period to earn a 5-4 victory.

Dave Williams lead the Raiders charges with a hat trick.  Derek Babineau and Bill Dixon added singles to complete the Raiders scoring.  Danny Hines had a pair for the Kings while Brian Sears and Jeff Urquhart added singles.  Rod O'Leary kicked out twenty-one shots to earn the win for the Raiders while Terry MacAloney kicked out twenty shots to take the loss for the Kings.
